Gyrl Band Debut the Hamilton Manor 4/20

Gyrl Band is the brainchild of NJ rocker, Lisa Bouchelle.  It all happened on a cold December night as Lisa Bouchelle, Sandy Zio and myself were all appearing on Danny Coleman's Rock on Radio Christmas Extravaganza in December of 2011.  Lisa was chatting it up with Sandy about doing a girl band and asked if I wanted on board.  I said "hell yeah" immediatly because let's be honest playing with other musicians is so much better than singing alone.  Not to mention, there really hasn't been an exciting girl band around in NJ in a while.  So as the new year came in I started thinking of the idea of a "Super Group" with a super logo and super cool ways of describing our band in our bio.  I wrote our bio, summoned the kind and generous pro-bono help of Giancarla Macaluso to do our graphics for our super logo and Lisa asked Papa Carl to help with our photo shoot.  Sandy Zio, the techie that she is, had the job of creating our facebook page.  I came up with a name "Girl Band" and two of us liked it so it stuck.  As Sandy was creating our facebook page, she ran into trouble with Girl Band since it was taken so she created Gyrl Band as our name and it stuck.  Somewhere along the way, I thought we needed capes in Pink, so I asked my bff Karen who is great with sewing to help us make them with our logo on the back.  So there you have it, it is as easy as doing all this work over months, practicing many, many times to get our harmonies and starts and finishes down pat and you too can have a Gyrl Band We all have nicknames but I will reveal this in another blog as time goes on.  I hope to see you all at our debut show and many more there after.

Happy New Year/Top Hightlights of 2011

What an amazing musical year it was for me in 2011.  I released my second CD Thankful to a  packed house in August along with my first music video "Without A Trace"  These are two things I would never have predicted to happen in my life time.  I also would have never predicted my fans to pay for my music video 156% on Kickstarter.com but you all did this for me and I love you for it.  I learned so much about myself as an artist that I will continue to apply to 2012.  This year is going to be an amazing year for my 3rd album is being written as I go and I have two bands that I'll be performing in.  I will be educating in songwriting all across NJ as well as privately, taking vocal lessons to stregthen my voice and have a song coming up in an indie film on autism.  There is just not enough time in my day to take care of all that I need to do for  both my family and my music.  The only way I can do this is because I love love love what I do so it comes easy to juggle.

Here is to 2012 being an even more amazing year for my music and I hope to see all of you at a show supporting us indie artists.  Thanks for all of your support in 2011 and continued support into this even year.

Love you all,

Kim Yarson

Hey Kim,
I ran into your mother at Debbie's Deli on Liberty St.and we were catching up regarding her life and mine. I asked about your two brothers and you. Regarding your career she told me what you are doing and to look you up on the internet. WOW, good for you, I so love when I hear of good people which I know from my younger years doing well in life and with their career. I am listening to you sing as I type this note and can hear that you are very talented, I would enjoy seeing you perform someday. Keep your passion moving forward and use the hard work ethic you've learned. Best of luck and good fortune!
Regards,
Domenick Forchi

Kim, as I said before, my wife, her sister, friend and I all love your CD "Satisfied". There's a nice mix of songs on there, with plenty of heart, faith and soul! It's nice to hear songs with such meaningful lyrics, especially when their lessons can apply to things we have been through. "The Art of Letting Go" is great, as is "Promise Me" and of course our favorite, "I Am Soul". The last one surely deserves national airplay. We look forward to hearing your next CD. I enjoyed reading the stories behind your songs. Keep on writing and singing! John

Kim,

We just wanted to thank you and the artist in advance for your willingness to do this for Juju and us.
Thank you for donating your time.
Juju has multiple challenges daily and they are exhausting after a while. Moments like this that truly help renergize us.
God and Jesus gives us continued hope and mercy that one day their will be a cure for all disease's effecting young and old. We pray daily for the opportunity to spread awareness about mitochondrial diseases. When you sing and play on Saturday please know you are not just helping Juju, but educating a community on empathy, hope and love. Keep lighting the up your awesome gifts. We pray that Jesus is with each and everyone of you on Saturday. Travel mercies to and from the event are being lifted up.
We are excited to meet you and thank you in person.

It seems like yesterday that I had the pleasure of meeting you and told you how much I loved the lyrics to one of your songs, and that it
touched me at a pivotal time in my life. Now, it's with great pride that I am able to have a hand in even a small part of your journey.
You are an inspiring songwriter, a great new friend & one heck of a cook. Love ya'!
